Tracking Predators and Prey: Searching for Clues to Winter Wildlife in Our Forests, Fields & Streams

Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Williams Barn in Groton, MA

NRWA River Classroom Director and wildlife tracker Stacey Chilcoat leads a three hour in-depth tracking workshop for adults and older children ages 12 and up focusing on three distinct winter habitats and the animals that not only survive but thrive during our harshest months.  Develop a greater understanding of these hardy inhabitants, their habits and activities, and learn to “read” their stories through the signs and clues we discover along the way.  This program will take place at Williams Barn Conservation Property in Groton, MA.

Activity Level: Moderate hiking or snowshoeing, mostly off-trail through snow. Recommended: Dress with multiple layers, winter boots, water resistant outer gear (snow pants or gators), pack water bottle & energy snack.  Fee: $20/person NRWA members, $25/non-members.  Space is limited; pre-registration is required.
