The NRWA presents programs of interest to the general public on topics such as sense of place, living with suburban wildlife, plant communities and rare plants, beavers, birds and butterflies.

Bluebird Monitoring

One of our current backyard programs is the Bluebird Recovery Project. As the Eastern Bluebird population in the northeast slowly recovers after losing ground in recent decades, NRWA volunteers support and monitor bluebird nesting in their area.

NRWA helps by sending instructions on how to build and where to locate bluebird houses in your backyard. Please see the Bluebird Recovery Project page for more information.
