One of NRWA's more active Stream Teams is based in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Members of this Stream Team have surveyed most of the North Nashua River and are working to conduct clean-ups of dump sites along the river. The Team also organized a popular series of public education programs designed to raise awareness of the river and its history.

Fitchburg Stream Team received this Department of Fisheries, Wildlife & Environmental Law Enforcement award for outstanding work in 2000.
