A gift in honor or memory of a special person is a wonderful way to recognize that individual and forward the NRWA’s work to protect our natural resources today. Give a Memorial or Tribute Gift.

Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

A donor-advised fund is a charitable investment account. You make an irrevocable contribution of cash, stocks, or other assets and receive an immediate tax deduction. The sponsoring organization invests and manages the donated assets. After you’ve made the initial gift, you make grants to eligible charities.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

Individuals age 70½+ may make charitable gifts directly from a traditional IRA account to an eligible charity without incurring federal income tax on the withdrawal. This type of gift can help to meet minimum distribution requirements without incurring federal income tax, while supporting the NRWA and its programs. If you make a gift through a QCD, please contact the NRWA to let us know as paperwork from your investment institution does not always include the donor’s name and address. For more details on parameters, limits, and tax implications, please contact your tax advisor.

Gifts of Stock

A gift of appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares that you have owned for more than one year can be a tax advantageous way to support the NRWA.  You may receive an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them, and you may pay no capital gains tax on the transfer. The NRWA sells the securities and uses the proceeds to support our work. Individual circumstances vary, so be sure to consult your tax advisor. If you wish to make a gift of stock, please contact Sarah Rose, NRWA Development Director, by email or call (978) 448-0299.

Arrange a Legacy Gift

Arrange a Matching Gift

Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double your donation. Contact your employer to determine if they have a matching gift program in place.

Donate a Vehicle

Do you have a car, truck, motorcycle, or boat that you’re not using? Even a camper or farm equipment? You can donate your vehicle to the NRWA, and your donation may be tax deductible. The process is simple and your vehicle does not have to be drivable. NRWA vehicle donations are handled by CARS, a non-profit organization that supports other non-profits through its vehicle donation program. If you donate your vehicle to the NRWA, CARS will collect your car from your driveway and the NRWA will receive the net proceeds from its sale at auction. You will receive a minimum $500 tax deduction statement, more if your vehicle sells for a higher value. Have questions? Review CARS FAQs. If you’re ready to donate your vehicle to the NRWA, simply complete the CARS online form or call CARS at (855) 550-4483. It’s fast, it’s easy.
