Notice: Public Health Advisory

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) has issued an advisory involving fish contaminated with Per & Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in the Nashua River. Towns impacted include, but are not limited to: Clinton, Lancaster, Harvard, Shirley, Devens, Ayer, Groton, Pepperell, and Dunstable. PLEASE SHARE this advisory.

MA DPH recommends avoiding the consumption of fish caught in the Nashua River, due to the amount of PFAS found in testing. For sensitive populations (Children under 12; and people who are nursing, pregnant, or may become pregnant), it is recommended to abstain from consuming fish caught in the Nashua River. For all others, consumption of fish caught in the Nashua River should be limited to one meal per month.
